Real estate Northern Cyprus and foreign buyers are an explosive mix. The reasons are many and often a little complicated but we will outline a few of them here. Anyone planning to buy any real estate Northern Cyprus side of the island should proceed with some caution.

For a start the only people who recognize the "T.R.N.C." or the mythical Republic of Northern Cyprus are the Turks themselves. In fact most of the civilized world operates trade and travel embargos against Northern Cyprus. So it is not an ideal climate to buy real estate Northern  Cyprus side of the border.

The Turks invaded Northern Cyprus in 1974 and have been there ever since. Unfortunately for anyone unwary enough to buy real estate Northern Cyprus side of the Island the land and property is still in dispute of ownership. In the likely event that the long standing dispute is resolved you could find yourself living on land that belongs to a Greek Cypriot!

So unless you want your dreams of living in the sun to turn into a future diplomatic nightmare you would be wise to avoid real estate Northern Cyprus altogether. Then of course many people have been tempted by the cheap property prices and taken a gamble. However in the present circumstances you would be well advised to avoid real estate Northern Cyprus altogether.
